Numerology is offered alongside astrology so routinely that most clients assume they are the same tradition. They are not, and since one uses a birth chart and the other does not, being clear about which you are receiving is worth a paragraph.
Two Separate Systems
Numerology works from numbers derived from a date of birth and from the letters of a name. Jyotish works from calculated planetary positions at a moment of birth. Neither derives from the other, and the classical astrological texts do not contain the numerological method.
