Understanding Your Concern
A great many people arrive here having already spoken to somebody else. They have been given a diagnosis, quoted a figure, and told the matter is urgent. What they want is not another ritual but an independent reading of whether any of it is true. That is a reasonable thing to ask for, and it is what this consultation provides. Coming for a second opinion before paying is the single most useful thing anybody in this position does, and it is the step almost nobody takes.

Checking a claim
What an Independent Reading Looks At
An independent reading starts from your birth details and nothing else. Whatever you have already been told is set aside, not because it is necessarily wrong but because a reading built on somebody else's conclusion is not independent.
What follows is what is actually examined:
- Whether the difficulty described appears in your chart at all, or belongs to circumstance.
- Which planetary period you are actually running, and what it explains on its own.
- Whether the condition you were told about is genuinely indicated or was asserted without basis.
- How long the current difficulty is expected to last without any intervention.
- Whether the remedy you were offered corresponds to anything in your chart.
- What, if anything, the classical material would actually suggest in your situation.
- Whether the urgency you were given has any foundation.
- Whether a second opinion was discouraged, which is itself worth noting.
- What would be expected to happen over the next year with no intervention at all.
Before you pay
What to Ask Anyone Before Money Changes Hands
These questions cost nothing and they filter out a great deal. They are worth putting to this practice as readily as to any other.
What is the total cost, and is there anything further that might be required later? A practitioner who cannot give a single figure is leaving room for one. What exactly will be done, and what is it expected to act upon? A refusal to describe the working is not discretion. What happens if it does not work — is there a refund, a second attempt, or nothing? And what birth details do you need from me, asked before rather than after a price is quoted?
The last one is the most reliable indicator of all. Any reading depends on the chart, so a price arrived at before anybody has looked at your details was not calculated from anything about you.
A practitioner who answers all four plainly may still not be right for you, but they are operating honestly. One who becomes irritated at being asked has told you what you needed to know.

What to Do When Money Has Changed Hands
This is a common position and it is worth approaching practically rather than with embarrassment. The useful question is not how to recover what is gone but what to do next.
What follows applies:
- Stop before making any further payment, whatever reason has been given for it.
- Ask for the reasoning behind the original diagnosis, in terms you can check.
- Treat a demand for escalating sums as the clearest signal that nothing is being done.
- Understand that money already paid is usually not recoverable, which is worth knowing plainly.
- Have your chart read independently before accepting any further advice from the same source.
- Be cautious of anyone who offers to undo another practitioner's work for a fee.
- Keep any correspondence, particularly where large sums were demanded urgently.
The boundaries
What This Consultation Will Not Do
It is worth being explicit about the limits, because people arrive hoping for two things that are not on offer.
This practice will not declare another astrologer a fraud. Your chart will be read and what it shows will be described, and where that differs from what you were told, the difference will be set out plainly. But a verdict on somebody who has not been heard from is not a reading, and an astrologer who offers one is doing to a colleague exactly what the trade does to everyone else.
It will also not contact the other practitioner, negotiate with them, or intervene in any way. That is not timidity — it is that there is nothing to negotiate, and involving a third party in a transaction you want to end generally prolongs it.
What you get instead is an independent view of your own chart and a straight answer about whether anything in it supports what you have been told. In most cases that is enough for somebody to stop, which is the outcome that actually matters.
