The fifth house is the house of romance, of what draws you, and of the spontaneous rather than the contracted. The seventh is the house of the partner and of partnership as a sustained arrangement, which is why it governs marriage rather than infatuation.
Venus is the natural significator of affection and pleasure; Mars of desire and of the temper of a quarrel. Jupiter matters for a woman's chart in the traditional reading, and the Moon for emotional steadiness in either.

No single placement decides anything. A strong seventh house with an afflicted Venus reads quite differently from a weak seventh with Venus well placed, and both read differently again depending on which period is running.
This is why generalised zodiac-sign material is nearly useless for relationships. It works from one factor out of a dozen and ignores the interaction that actually produces the reading.
